A Journey With Dogs and Beyond
Hello, everyone! My name is April Geer, and I’m excited to share a bit about my journey in the world of dog training and my life beyond the leash.
I graduated from the online academy at the Victoria Stillwell Academy, where I honed my skills in positive reinforcement and effective training techniques. My training style is solely based on the dog and how they respond to me and their surroundings. While I focus heavily on positive reinforcement, I also teach the concept of “no” and emphasize that there are consequences for not following the rules. This balanced approach helps create a respectful and trusting relationship between me and my dogs.I truly enjoy watching owners create and nurture their bond with their dogs through positive methods, setting boundaries, and incorporating play. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about seeing this connection grow!
My passion for dog training has led me to explore various activities, including dock diving, rally, barn hunt, and general obedience. There’s nothing quite like the thrill of seeing my dogs excel and bond with me during training sessions. I’m lucky to share my life with four wonderful dogs: Zero, Ozzy, River, and Marley. Each of them brings their own unique personality and joy to our home.
When I’m not training dogs, I love spending time with my family. We share a close-knit bond, and I cherish our moments together, whether we’re enjoying a family outing or just relaxing at home. Our adventures often take us camping, fishing, and hunting—activities that not only bring us closer together but also connect us with nature.
I also have a special passion for showing my miniature horses, Libby and Tyke. You will often find us on the weekends in the show pen. I participate in in-hand classes, speed classes, and enjoy lots of trail driving. Driving them around and showcasing Their skills is an incredibly rewarding experience!
